Chelsea:
Just to let you know that everything went well in picking up Chelsea from the transporters. Even the timing was right. There were several heavy downpours before the transporters arrived. The sun came out just as our Chelsea arrived.
Ginny sat in the back of our suv to reassure Chelsea. Chelsea was a little apprehensive when we first arrived at her new forever home. We gave her free run of the front of the house and she started to settle right in. About 30 years ago I built a kennel out of oak and 1x2 inch wire, it’s 30” wide, 24” high and 48” deep. We have always kept it in the living/ dining room area. We had removed the front door some time ago. All our dogs have used it as a secure, quite place.
We were wondering what we were going to do with Chelsea for her first night. She made the choice for herself. When she discovered the kennel she went inside and settled down for the night. She now uses it as her “cave” for naps and sleep time.
She rapidly made friends with our 9 yr old GSD. Pictures of her playing with him are attached. She has the blue collar. And they often play kissy face!
Within the first few days she learned when it was treat time and follows her “boy friend” to the treat spots.
At night she comes into our bed room and steals my wife’s socks and sneakers, and carries them into her little cave. She doesn’t chew them, I think she just wants to have something of Ginny’s near her.
She is just the perfect girl. A quick learner. Still a little apprehensive when meeting new people.
She is a real sweetheart. We are happy to have her as part of our household.
Thank you for the work you do for these abandoned dogs.
